Privacy Policy

We use information to:

• Create and maintain accounts
• Provide household and organizational features
• Store and display your areas, photos, inventory, missions, and activity
• Analyze photographs and generate app features using AI
• Generate missions, debriefs, shelf sweeps, listing drafts, and other requested features
• Determine whether a photographed area has changed from its saved standard
• Maintain points, levels, badges, and household leaderboards
• Process subscriptions and manage billing
• Send necessary account and service communications
• Provide customer support and investigate bug reports
• Understand how the service is used and improve its operation
• Prevent abuse, protect accounts, and maintain security
• Comply with legal obligations

We may also send product news, tips, or other optional communications if you have opted in. You may unsubscribe from optional communications while continuing to receive messages necessary to operate your account.

The Cleaner uses artificial intelligence as part of its core functionality.

When you upload certain photographs, The Cleaner may automatically analyze them using AI, including to compare a space with its saved standard. Additional AI processing occurs when you request features such as missions, debriefs, shelf sweeps, or listing drafts.

Depending on the feature, information sent for AI processing may include:

• A photograph
• Area name or description
• Notes or standard descriptions
• Other text needed to perform the requested feature

We do not send your password or payment-card information to the AI system.

The Cleaner currently uses Google Gemini models through Lovable’s AI Gateway. Photos and related information are sent to these services as needed to complete each AI request.

The Cleaner does not use, retain, train on, or fine-tune AI models using your photographs, prompts, or other content. Our own AI usage records contain only information such as the type of operation, model used, token usage, and cost. We do not store the photograph or prompt in our AI usage logs.

Google and Lovable may process or retain information transmitted through their services according to the terms and policies applicable to those services. Their handling of request data is outside The Cleaner’s codebase and may change independently of our service.

The Cleaner allows people to participate in shared households.

Members of your household may be able to see information associated with that household, including:

• Areas and photographs
• Standards and before-and-after photographs
• Items and container contents
• Missions, runs, and debriefs
• Display names, agent codenames, and avatars
• Points, levels, badges, and leaderboard information

Because household information is intentionally shared among household members, only join or invite people you trust to your household.

Household owners can manage household membership, including removing members and changing household join codes.

The Cleaner does not provide public profiles or public photo galleries. Household photographs are not published publicly by The Cleaner.

If you use your device’s sharing features to share information outside The Cleaner, you control where that information is sent.

We use PostHog to understand how people use The Cleaner.

We use event analytics rather than session recording. We do not use PostHog to record your screen, create heatmaps, or capture the contents of your photographs.

Where supported, The Cleaner respects browser Do Not Track settings for these analytics.

We do not use advertising analytics or tracking technologies such as Meta Pixel, TikTok Pixel, Google Ads, or Google Analytics.

Payments and subscriptions are processed by Stripe.

The Cleaner does not receive or store your complete credit- or debit-card number.

We may store information needed to manage your subscription, such as a Stripe customer or subscription identifier, subscription status, selected plan, billing period, and cancellation status.

Stripe may separately collect and process payment, device, fraud-prevention, and transaction information under its own privacy practices.

We use third-party providers to operate The Cleaner. These providers supply services including:

• Hosting and application infrastructure
• Database, authentication, and private file storage
• AI processing
• Analytics
• Payment processing
• Transactional email
• Network and edge infrastructure

These providers currently include Lovable, Supabase-based infrastructure, Google Gemini, PostHog, Stripe, and Cloudflare.

Service providers may process information as necessary to provide their services to us and may maintain technical logs or other information according to their applicable terms and legal obligations.

We do not sell your personal information to these providers.

The Cleaner does not intentionally collect your precise geographic location and does not use your device’s geolocation API.

Before upload, photographs are resized and re-encoded by the app. This process removes most original camera metadata, including GPS EXIF metadata.

Our infrastructure and service providers may nevertheless process information such as your IP address as part of ordinary internet operations, security, analytics, or payment processing.

The Cleaner and its service providers use browser storage, cookies, and similar technologies where necessary to operate the service.

These technologies may be used to:

• Keep you signed in
• Maintain authentication and security
• Remember temporary app state and preferences
• Preserve household invitations during sign-in
• Provide analytics
• Support Stripe checkout and fraud prevention

We do not use cookies or similar technologies for cross-site behavioral advertising.

We do not sell your personal information.

We do not share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising, and The Cleaner does not contain third-party advertising.

We do not use your photographs for advertising.

The Cleaner is a general-audience service and is not directed to children under 13.

Households may include family members, and information submitted through an account may relate to children or other household members. This can include display names, codenames, avatars, activity information, and photographs of household spaces.

The Cleaner does not use this information for targeted advertising or behavioral profiling.

If you believe a child under 13 has provided personal information to us in circumstances that require its removal, contact us at privacy@thecleaner.app.

Information generally remains in The Cleaner until it is deleted or is no longer necessary to provide the service.

Household owners have a Delete Everything option that can permanently delete the household’s data and associated account information. Because this can remove information shared among household members, confirmation may be required before deletion.

You may also contact privacy@thecleaner.app regarding deletion or other privacy requests.

Some limited information may remain temporarily in routine backups after deletion and will age out through normal backup processes. We may also retain limited records when reasonably necessary for security, fraud prevention, legal compliance, dispute resolution, payment or accounting requirements, or enforcement of our agreements.

Information maintained independently by third-party providers may be subject to their own retention requirements.

We use technical and organizational safeguards intended to protect user information.

These include:

• Authentication controls
• Database-level access restrictions
• Household- and user-based permissions
• Private file storage
• Temporary signed links for photographs
• HTTPS connections
• Server-side authorization for privileged operations
• Protected storage of service credentials

No online service can guarantee absolute security. If you believe you have discovered a security problem involving The Cleaner, please contact privacy@thecleaner.app.

We may disclose information when we reasonably believe disclosure is necessary to:

• Comply with applicable law, legal process, court orders, or lawful government requests
• Investigate fraud, abuse, or security incidents
• Protect the rights, property, or safety of If We Just, LLC, our users, or others
• Establish, exercise, or defend legal claims

If If We Just, LLC is involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, sale of assets, or similar business transaction, information associated with The Cleaner may be transferred as part of that transaction.

Any successor’s handling of personal information will remain subject to applicable law and the privacy commitments governing the information.

Depending on where you live, applicable law may provide rights concerning your personal information.

You may contact us to request that we:

• Provide information about personal information associated with your account
• Correct inaccurate account information
• Delete personal information
• Address another privacy-related concern

We may need to verify your identity before fulfilling a request.

The Cleaner is currently marketed primarily to users in the United States. The service may be technically accessible from other countries, but we do not currently market The Cleaner specifically to users outside the United States.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time as The Cleaner changes or as legal requirements change.

The Last Updated date at the top of this policy identifies the current version. Where applicable law requires additional notice or consent for a particular change, we will comply with those requirements.
